Photoshop is most powerful software for Designer and all. Layer style is great part of photoshop with help of Layer style you can create effect very fast. In this tutorial you will see practical for using layer style for creating liquid filled text effect in Photoshop.

First Step

Let’s start the Photoshop, Create new document, 1700px by 900px. Fill background with linear gradient using color 15% black and foreground color 40% black. Start from top to bottom of file.





Second Step

Select text tool and type text as you wish for making effect. Use 8% black, font size is 300px and type is “Coolsville”. Use any font that you like but it was bold.

Make duplicate the text layer; give name both layer as your wish.



Third Step

Double click on the layer (wrf – 1)  and apply layer styles as shown in image.











Fourth Step

Now, select layer (wrf - 2) fill color in it 0%, Double click on the layer (wrf – 2)  and apply layer styles as shown in image.







Fifth Step

Select rectangle tool and draw rectangle shape as per shown in tutorial. Put rectangle shape layer between two layers wrf1 and wrf2.



Sixth Step

Select the “Add Anchor Point Tool”, and start adding points at the edges of the letters, where they intersect with the rectangle.



Seventh Step

Now rasterize the rectangle shape layer, Make duplicate shape layer, right click on copy layer and select Rasterize Layer. For creating selection of text layer, press control key and right click on text icon. Now Shift+Control+I for making invert selection and delete. So now extra part will delete.




Eight Step

Double click on the rasterized shape layer, and apply the following styles.
